Topic: Trans-Parenting

if you have experience with parenting as a member of the FtM+/SOFFA community and/or you have begun the process of becoming a parent you are strongly encouraged to attend to share experience and information

This topic is expansive and can cover a range of areas including (but not limited to):

-What does it mean to be Trans and a parent?
- What is involved in transitioning if you have children?
- Having children post or during transition - what are the options and how do you decide?
- What does it mean to raise children if you identify as trans in a gendered world?
- How do you handle and children who you had pre-transition?
- What is involved with decisions around disclosure and children you have post-transition?
- why disclose, why not disclose and how do you (or do you plan to) navigate this decision?
- What are the unique issues involved in raising children if you identify as gender queer?
- What unique challenges are faced by individuals who are stealth and parenting?

This meeting is open to all individuals who identify on the FtM+ spectrum
as well as Significant Others, Friends, Families and Allies (SOFFAs)

As such it is important that the discussions take part in a respectful manner and that any technical or area specific language be defined and that patience be exercised as we work to communicate and build community.
