Walk In Counseling Center http://www.walkin.org Mental health and counseling services with therapists who have worked with gender identity

MN Transhealth Coalition http://www.mntranshealth.org healthcare advocacy, access, resources and education coalition

Medical Care Providers There are good healthcare providers with trans experience. We could definitely use more but it is important to recognize what is present.

Outfront http://www.outfrontmn.org Provides resources for individuals who are looking for support, assistance and advocacy across the LGBTQA... spectrum.

Self Defense for Transmen Classes - Have been a fantastic opportunity to share skills, learn skills and connect over something beyond gender and transition.

Would We Could Use

Greater Access - Increased access to healthcare for non-trans specific concerns. Increased knowledge of healthcare providers who work with conditions that are not directly gender related but who are trans affrming while maintaining high quality work in their area of specialty.

Stealth Support- Greater support for guys who are stealth and increased spaces for stealth guys to access support and resources without sacrificing their identity. In addition an awareness that stealth and out are equally valid identities and being stealth is not automatically a result of fear, self-hatred or internalized phobia. It is often an awareness that trans is no longer a primary identity but rather was a transitional identity.

Identity Bridge Building- Working across identities to create a diverse community in which each is allowed to develop their own identity with an awareness that there is no correct or incorrect identity and a respect for the validity and positivity in identity creation and self determiniation even if someone ends up at a different place than someone else.

Age Diversity - Programming that is specific to age ranges. For example spaces where under 18 year olds or 18-22 year olds can gather to discuss concerns but also spaces where individuals who are older can gather in a space of similarly aged peers.

Positive Partner Support - Support and community for partners that allows for a positive outlook and moves beyond mourning, grief and challenges to look at gifts and opportunities in a trans relationships.

Social Activities- Activities and events where individuals may be trans but the primary social draw is not gender but shared interestes. For example book groups, movie nights, grill outs, guys nights out, pot lucks, fishing trips etc.

Transgender Healthcare Providers who are Trans- Greater support for indviiduals who are transgender and who are also healthcare professionals. On the flip side of this greater support and involvement from individuals who are transgender and who are also healthcare professionals.

Learning Opportunities- Chances for indviduals who are transgender to share what they know and special skills they may have. The Self defense for transmen workshops are a fantastic example of this. Now let's get more.
